Two coasts
Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, and Mazatlan from Los Angeles, and a separate note on Cozumel.
Mexico in this planner means two different trips. The Mexican Riviera samples leave Los Angeles for the Pacific coast: typically Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. Those are seven-night patterns and they are the reason to fly or drive to San Pedro.
Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Progreso are also Mexico, but they usually sit inside a Caribbean week from Miami, Galveston, or another Gulf port. If you want the Pacific coast, filter Mexico and Los Angeles together. If you want Cozumel without a flight to California, start with Caribbean and a Gulf homeport.
When these sailings run
Los Angeles Riviera seasons commonly run from autumn through spring. Summer is thinner because many ships leave the Pacific coast for Alaska or other programs. Our samples sit in November, January, and April for that reason.
The Caribbean side of Mexico runs whenever the western Caribbean runs, including winter and late spring. Hurricane season still applies to Cozumel even though the Pacific Riviera is a different coast.
- Cabo San LucasThe tender or small-boat arrival most Riviera weeks include. The arch is the landmark, not a pier in the center of town.
- Puerto VallartaA walkable malecón and the call that feels most like a city on these samples.
- MazatlanA long beach city that shows up in the middle of several Los Angeles weeks.
- CozumelAn easy pier day on the Caribbean side, filed under Caribbean when the rest of the week is islands.

Questions about Mexico
Why does a Mexico search miss my Caribbean week?
A western Caribbean sailing is tagged Caribbean so the two coasts do not get mixed into one result. Cozumel can still appear in that Caribbean summary.
Is Ensenada a full Riviera week?
No. Ensenada is a short call down the Baja coast. Our Riviera samples are the longer Cabo and Puerto Vallarta pattern.
Do I need a passport?
For a closed-loop cruise that starts and ends in the same U.S. port, rules can differ from an open-jaw trip. Ask when you inquire, and check the current government requirement before you travel. This page is not a border ruling.
