A seafront turnaround for western Mediterranean weeks.
Barcelona is the easiest large Mediterranean homeport in our samples because the cruise port is on the city’s seafront. A western week from here typically moves toward Palma, the French coast, and Italy. You can sleep in the city the night before without a two-hour transfer in the morning.
The samples are seven nights and they are port-intensive. Choose Barcelona when you want Spain as the start and you are willing to be ashore most days. It is the wrong homeport for a Greek island week; that sample set leaves from Athens.
- Seafront portThe terminal is part of the city waterfront, which is why we suggest a pre-cruise night here.
- Western MediterraneanPalma, France, and Italy are the direction of travel.
- Main seasonMay, June, and September in the current samples.

Questions about Barcelona
Should I tour the city on embarkation day?
Only if you arrived a day early. Embarkation day itself is for boarding, not for the Sagrada Família.
Is the ship in the old port or a cargo dock?
Passenger ships use the city’s cruise quays along the waterfront. Your documents name the exact terminal.
Can this connect to a Rome cruise?
Some real itineraries do. In this catalog they are separate samples so you can choose a homeport first.
